City Breaks Ground at South Mall
February 5th, 2025
The Circle - Downtown Project
Corona, CA
Renovations for South Mall are officially underway, beginning with the parking lot — an important step in our Downtown Revitalization! Mayor Jim Steiner, Vice Mayor Jacque Casillas, and Council Members Tom Richins, Tony Daddario, and Wes Speake joined us to celebrate this significant milestone.
This center will soon welcome new restaurants, bringing more dining options your way, plus we’re in the planning stages of potential amenities like a skating rink! Get ready to welcome The Wine Down and Circle City Tavern! Stay tuned for their Grand openings in Spring 2025.

City Adopts Placemaking Guidelines
In September 2022, the City adopted Downtown Revitalization Plan and Placemaking Guidelines. The City is currently working on codifying those design guidelines into the City’s Downtown Specific Plan. The City selected Interwest, Inc. as the consultant to prepare the Downtown Specific Plan Amendment, which is anticipated to be complete toward the end of 2024.

South Mall Construction Kicks Off
In August 2022, LAB Holding kicked off construction on approximately 30,000 square feet of new retail, restaurant, and outdoor dining spaces at the southeast corner of Sixth Street and Main Street. LAB Holding is calling this development Southside Social. The revitalized center will feature a brewery, craft beer bottle shop, and small theater featuring live performances, café, restaurant, and outdoor dining! Southside Social is anticipated to open by Summer 2024.
